Hello, I'm Kelly

For me, this amazing adventure of Pipe Dream Cakes all started as a child. I have the most wonderful memories of my mother creating heartwarming cakes for all my childhood birthday parties. I can remember a horse and a smurf village in particular. So when I became a mum myself, it was important for me to be able to do this for my own daughter, so I started venturing into cake design.

At the time, I was a full time graphic designer and marketing manager and unfortunately lost my job, like so many other people, during COVID. I wasn't unemployed for long but my new job was primarily an administration/ reception role.... and I quickly hated no longer being able to be creative.

 

My amazing husband noticed this and bought me some cake decorating classes which I loved! I spent a lot of time learning techniques and built some truly amazing friendships within the Sunshine Coast Cake Community. One thing led to another and eventually, with the push I really needed from my husband, here I am with my very own cake decorating business!

 Now, each and every day I get excited about your cake requests! I love emails where people want me to bring their child's favourite tv show or their love of dinosaurs into their birthday cake!

I just love being able to bring that jaw dropping excitement (that every parent wants to see on their childs' face!) to your loved one on their special day.
