HANDMADE BUTTERCREAM CAKES
Pipe Dream Cakes creates handmade, custom cakes with buttercream icing filling and exteriors. We do not create fully fondant covered cakes. Fondant is used only to create cake decorations. Slight imperfections must be expected when decorating with buttercream icing and other edible products. Pipe Dream Cakes will not replace or refund cakes due to slight imperfections.
 
VARIATIONS
Photographs displayed on our website booking platform, online marketing, social media or any other printed or online marketing materials is for reference only. Every single cake is decorated after booking by hand, so variations in colour, shading, texture, placement of decorations etc is to be expected. When ordering with Pipe Dream Cakes you are ordering a special cake, made with love. Designed by hand means that no two cakes are ever exactly the same.
 
BOOKINGS & PAYMENTS
CUSTOM CAKES/CUPCAKES
An emailed quoted price is valid for 30 days. In order to confirm your booking and secure your collection date, a booking deposit of 50% of your total invoice is required at the time of booking. This booking deposit is non-refundable. We do not hold or secure bookings until this deposit is paid. The remaining payable balance is required to be paid a minimum of 7 days prior to your collection/delivery date. Bookings made within 7 days of collection/delivery date must be paid for in full at the time of booking. Once your booking deposit is paid, we will commence purchasing items we require for your cake, however please note that we will NOT start the assembly of your cake until AFTER your final payment has been made. If this payment is not made a minimum of 7 days prior to your collection/delivery date, we can not guarantee that your cake will be able to be completed in time. We do not accept cash payments.
ONLINE PURCHASED CAKES/CUPCAKES
All online cake/cupcakes bookings require full payment at the time of booking. Payments must be made via the website, we do not accept cash payments.

CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to the nominated collection/delivery date as stated on your invoice. Cancellations must be made in writing to us via email. (pipedreamcakes@bigpond.com).
CUSTOM CAKES/CUPCAKES
The 50% booking fee made at the time of your booking is non-refundable, no matter at what stage/timeframe a cancellation is made. If 7 days notice or greater is provided for a cancellation, then any monies paid over and above this booking fee amount can be transferred to another cake/cupcake order and used within 12 months (we can provide a gift card to the $ value). Cash/money refunds are not provided. Where less than 7 days notice is given for a cancellation, all monies paid are non-refundable. Pipe Dream Cakes retains the right to cancel any booking at any time with a full refund of any monies paid. Completed orders not collected on time may incur a 100% cancellation fee. In the event of a QLD Govt mandated COVID snap lockdown, your 50% non-refundable booking fee will be transferred to another order within 12 months.
ONLINE PURCHASED CAKES/CUPCAKES

ALTERATIONS, SPELLING & DETAILS
It is important to check the details on your invoice and/or online booking form carefully before paying, as making payment confirms all the details as stated on your invoice/form are correct. These details will be used to purchase goods required for your cake and changes after booking may not be possible. The spelling of names and/or any other details provided by you which will appear on your cake (eg. cake toppers) will be cut and pasted directly from the booking form (when booking online) or will appear detailed in your invoice (custom cake orders). Please check the details CAREFULLY, as we are not responsible for any errors in spelling or incorrect details as they appear on the booking form/invoice. Any alterations must be requested via email (pipedreamcakes@bigpond.com). Please note, we will endeavor to help and are more than happy to make changes if possible, however please note that depending on the notice given, changes may not be possible (eg in particular cake flavours, names on toppers etc). Please note that changes may attract additional charges.
 
CLARITY OF DETAILS
In the event, that we do not understand, or are a little unsure of your details/requests as per your online booking form, we will contact you via the email address provided on the booking form to ask for clarification. In order to be able to have your order ready in time, we are obviously on a timeframe, so if we do not hear back from you within the timeframe we require, we will do our best to interpret the information. In this event, we are NOT responsible for the finished product being different to what you were anticipating. CAKE BAKING & INGREDIENTS

The cakes and cupcakes supplied to you by Pipe Dream Cakes are a mix of home-baked as well as goods baked by an outsourced, quality Australian owned and run wholesale bakery. Ingredients can be provided on request.

  

COLLECTION DATE/TIME
Please ensure you collect your cake/cupcakes at the nominated date/time as confirmed on your order. We do understand that minor delays can occur, please contact us by emailing pipedreamcakes@bigpond.com as soon as possible if you are delayed. Please note that I may not be available after your nominated collection time due to other commitments and alternative collection time may need to be arranged. If not collected on time, Pipe Dream Cakes will attempt to contact you via email to arrange an alternate collection time. Lack of response within 24 hours to our email communication will result in a 100% cancellation fee and forfeit of your order. Pipe Dream Cakes reserves the right to dispose, sell or give away any order not collected within 24hours.
 
DELIVERIES
At this time deliveries are not available.
 
CAKE CARE/TRANSPORT
Once your order is collected you assume ALL liability for the condition of that cake/cupcakes. Pipe Dream Cakes is not liable for ANY damage to cakes once they are collected. 
 
Do not leave cake/cupcakes in your vehicle for any extended length of time. We recommend placing the cake box on the front passenger floor for transportation and drive carefully. Keep your vehicle as cool as possible and do not place cake in the boot.
 
NON-EDIBLE ITEMS
Please note that almost all cakes will contain some non-edible items. These may include easy to see decorations (eg. cake toppers, artificial flowers, toys etc) and others may be difficult to see (eg. supports/rods inside the cake, toothpicks to secure toppers). It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that all non-edible items are completely removed before serving and consuming. Pipe Dream Cakes are not liable for any injuries sustained from non-edible items. Pipe Dream Cakes are NOT suitable for use as “Smash Cakes”.
 
​CAKE SIZE & SERVINGS
The number of servings for each cake size provided by Pipe Dream Cakes in any correspondence are estimates. We are not responsible for shortage of cake due to incorrect guest counts or larger than recommended cutting slices.
 
STORAGE
Cakes/cupcakes should remain in their transportation boxes and MUST be refrigerated prior to serving. Once ready to serve, remove from the fridge approx. 20 minutes before serving (this time is an estimated example, the ideal time may be shorter on very hot days and if your celebration is outdoors, or it may be longer during cold winter days or in very cold airconditing – please use common sense). Keep cakes out of direct sunlight and heat as buttercream will melt and your cake and/or the cake decorations could collapse. Pipe Dream Cakes takes NO responsibility for decorations or cakes that become misshaped or collapse due to heat or incorrect transportation. Left overs may be frozen (wrapped in glad wrap). It is ideal to consume your cake/cupcakes within 3 days of collection.

​ALLERGENS
We operate under a local council approved home based licence, and DO NOT cater for any dietary requirements or allergens. While every effort is made to ensure we thoroughly clean our supplies, as a home based kitchen we can NOT guarantee that our products do not contain or have not come into contact with allergens such as milk, nuts, wheat, soy, gluten, seafood etc. This includes any “Gluten Free” products we advertise. It is YOUR responsibility to advise those consuming the cake/cupcakes of the risks and that Pipe Dream Cakes are NOT liable for any allergic reactions. 
 
PHOTOGRAPHY/MARKETING
Pipe Dream Cakes reserves the right to photograph your cakes/cupcakes and use those photographs in both online and offline social media and marketing promotions. 
 
SPRINKLES, FONDANT DECORATIONS & FONDANT CHARACTERS/FIGURES
Please note that sprinkles/non perils and fondant/gumpaste decorations used on Pipe Dream Cakes cupcakes and cakes are made from edible materials, however may be hard. Sprinkles/Non-Perils & Fondant/Gumpaste decorations are to be eaten at your own risk.
 
Pipe Dream Cakes supplies fondant characters and figures for cake decoration. These may be purchased individually, or provided as part of a complete cake/cupcakes. Note that while the exterior of these decorations are made from edible fondant, they are NOT recommended for consumption. Some characters will contain non-edible materials such as styrofoam and skewers/supports which MUST be removed before serving.
 
FOOD COLOURING/STAINS
Food colouring is used in all our cakes and cupcakes. You acknowledge that food colouring has the potential to stain clothing, furniture, linen and teeth upon contact. Pipe Dream Cakes are NOT liable for any damage resulting from staining. 
 
​COMPLAINTS/REFUNDS
We never like to hear complaints as we truly pride ourselves on making beautiful and delicious cakes. In the unfortunate event that you are unhappy with your cake/cupcakes please contact us via email (pipedreamcakes@bigpond.com) as soon as possible so we can attempt to fix the problem as best as possible. Please do not post negative reviews or comments via social media before allowing us to work with you. Any requests for either a partial or full refund will require the cake/cupcakes to be returned to Pipe Dream Cakes for inspection/investigation into the issue. Non ability to return cake/cupcakes will result is no refund being considered. Any refunds/future discounts will be at Pipe Dream Cake’s discretion.
